Retaining walls have been around for centuries, especially those made of stone and boulders. Stone retaining walls are known for their ability to last for quite some time and are very durable.
Of course, not all retaining walls are made from natural stone and boulders, others exist too, such as interlocking man-made blocks; and some are even made from wood or other materials!

• Stacked Boulder:
A popular choice for retaining walls, stacked boulders invite structure and definition into your landscape plan. People enjoy this type of retaining wall for its natural, yet stately look and its long life.
• Interlocking Manmade Blocks:
Another popular choice is interlocking, a manmade block. These are very common in the use of a basic retaining wall that serves a purpose and refines the exterior of your home and landscape. These are commonly used anywhere where a little definition is necessary, often used in commercial landscaping plans, but used in residential ones as well. There are a variety of shapes and sizes available, so reach out and we’ll see what we can do for you!
• Wood:
Wood is popular when natural beauty is preferred over a brick or stone appearance. They blend seamlessly into nearly any landscaping plan and have the added benefit of being used for garden beds or flower boxes. The drawback with wood, however, is that it doesn’t last nearly as long as stone or brick, as it is biodegradable and breaks down much quicker than the aforementioned options. If budget is a concern, they tend to be more affordable than stone or concrete, but nonetheless, the choice is up to you!
