Buncombe County Residence

This Fairview landscape design and construction project actually spanned a couple of years as we worked with the clients and their contractor in siting the house on the lot so that they could take maximum advantage of the pastoral views while enjoying multiple outdoor living spaces. The rolling nature of the landscape allowed for the use of natural stone and boulders to create boundaries and access to the different places. The owners wanted a large stone patio where they could entertain family and friends as well as a smaller stone patio where they could relax around a fire pit and take the chill out of the spring and fall air. Because they want to enjoy time outside in all four seasons around Cane Creek, we created a planting plan with species that provide color and interest throughout the year. The use of many grasses and perennials helps to soften the transition areas between the rock walls and living spaces while also requiring very little maintenance.
