When the cold weather comes and the wind blows the last of the leaves off of the trees you might think that your landscaping days are over until the spring, but that’s just not true! Even though your plants might not be the liveliest during the winter months, that doesn’t mean that you don’t have others that you can focus on to add a bit of decoration to your landscape.
There are many types of trees whose bark is fairly decorative. Once all of the leaves are gone the bark is more fully exposed, which against a white winter landscape adds a pop of color and detail. You can also look into non-deciduous trees such as evergreens to add an additional color, and as an added bonus make you appear very festive!
If plants are not what you want to focus on this winter you can always rely on your hardscapes. Any sort of structure you have is begging to be adorned with decorate. A pergola, gazebo or fireplace is the perfect place to adorn. Think about the addition of greenery and possibly some berries for an extra pop of color. Enhancing these types of structures draws the eye away from any planters in case you want to forget about your landscape until the spring.
